Now, with this joint venture, JD Taurus is bringing its comprehensive product line, which will be manufactured in the state-of-the-art factory situated in the State of Haryana, including its own shooting range for rigorous testing purposes to ensure Taurus well known international safety standards. Taurus' cutting-edge technology and stringent quality control measures ensure that every firearm is of the highest quality and meets international safety standards.
Bringing a century of Taurus expertise to India:
Taurus was founded in 1939, on the eve of World War II. In the years leading up to it, Brazil's then-president, Getúlio Vargas, encouraged greater industrialization. With the support of the actions and initiatives of President Getúlio, a group of 6 businessmen from Rio Grande do Sul established a small operation for the manufacture of tools in the city of São Leopoldo. Motivated by the entrepreneurial spirit and development of the national industry, the group of entrepreneurs soon began the development of their own weapon.
FIRST REVOLVERS
It was then that, in 1942, the first Taurus revolvers went into full production. And soon, in 1950, a new factory was built to meet the growing demand and manufacture the company's own tools.
In the 60s and 70s, the expansion of production and the diversification of products continued to grow, requiring the group of entrepreneurs to invest in the construction of a third factory.
This expansion meant for Taurus a large investment in infrastructure, which eventually opened the door for the company to begin its international expansion.
TAURUS INTERNATIONAL
In 1981, the company opened Taurus International Manufacturing in Miami, South Florida, marking the beginning of Taurus' history in the United States. The inauguration of the plant in the USA also consolidates the position of the company and itsmain product lines: revolvers, pistols, tactical weapons and sporting weapons, evolving the company's sales to more than 100 countries on 5 continents.
Soon Taurus receives international recognition, becoming a leading arms manufacturer in the world. Along the way, won the company has 7 coveted Golden Bullseye Awards, as well as numerous Gun of the Year, Editor's Choice, Manufacturer of the Year, Best of the Best and Handgun of the Year awards, all organized and handed out by industry associations and the trade press.
TAURUS CONTINUE TO MOVE FORWARD BOLDLY
Nowadays, Taurus continues to advance with boldness, in Brazil and in the world.
The company's production and U.S. headquarters have evolved into a new manufacturing center, with more than 18,000m², in the south of the state of Georgia.
In Brazil, Taurus has 4 factories and an industrial plant of 50,500m² and has 4 independent production lines: pistol, revolver, tactical weapon and long gun; in addition to having a pilot production line with robot, 100% automated, and a Hub for distribution of components from Brazil to the USA and India.
All this technology, accompanied by modern processes, allows the production of 1 weapon every 15 seconds, on average, in Brazil.
